A bit disgruntled. I was excited to join curves primarily because it is for women only. I didn't realize that it is a "one size fits all" workout approach before I signed up and I feel REALLY disappointed that I wasted my money here. AND to top it off, I had to pay a $53.04 cancellation fee in order to not be a member anymore! I didn't cancel because I didn't want to workout, I cancelled because I am disappointed in the product you have to offer and that you think this 2 time circuit approach for 30 minutes is a good program for all women.

It's a program for women who want to say "I did something today" but who actually didn't do anything. I do not understand how the EXACT SAME routine for a 70+ woman is going to be fitting for a 27 year old. What's worse is that the owner of this store and her other employee wanted to assure me that if I would "just push the machines harder" then I would see the results the results I was looking for. However, for Women especially, repetition is better for joints and muscles rather than weight and resistance. These women just didn't seem to have an understanding of anything outside the Curves system and I felt like they were arguing with me in my concern about their program. I am not sure this is how every Curves works, but this one seemed to be a little "stone-aged" and "small-towned".

In my professional college cross country and track experience, and through the several certified people I know in similar fields, I am strongly assured that this program isn't for everyone and that they need to be a little more honest about this upfront. When I went originally went to join Curves, a friend said to me, "isn't that for old and fat ladies", and in the end I realize that older and heavy set women are probably the only people who could get a good workout in at curves. I am not sure that this store actually represents the national Curves standard, but they did make me think far less of what could be an amazing program for women across the nation.

I think Curves could serve ALL types of women and move far from the stereotype my husband shared with me, but right now I’m sad to say that I agree with my friend after my curves experience. I feel that it is sad to say that all women can fall into this “one size fits all” workout approach and not acknowledge that all women have different and unique bodies.
